Sunrise at Point Arkwright on the Sunshine Coast QLD, February 2011. It was a particularly rough sea that morning with the tide coming in so quickly – I had to back off from even this higher rock shelf a few times to avoid being washed off of it.
Shot with a Canon 7D, 10-22mm lens, B+W polariser and Lee grad filters.
Shutter: 1/5th
Aperture: f/11

Ohhhhhh great capture, bet you were wrapped when you saw you caught this lol. Awesome!
Sure was Kym, it was one of those “should I really still be standing here” moments too. I think the wide angle lens makes it look as though the wave is further away than it was :) Thanks again for commenting.

Fantastic image Jason, love the lighting & the waves. Should be at Palm Beach 17th May, for a couple of days, (on our way home, to S.A.) hope the weather is o.k., with scenes like this, here’s hoping. Instant fave.
Thanks once again Tony for the comment mate! Palm Beach is a great area, I’m sure you’ve scoped out the Currumbin rocks area by now :) You’ll love it.

Beautiful motion captured here! Love the wave breaking over those amazingly strange rock formations balanced nicely with the sun rising over the horizon and the misty water to the right :)
Thanks bub :D Was an awesome morning indeed, despite having wet cameras a few times :D

Yeah mate pretty happy with it – took a few drenchings and cleanings of camera & filters before I got this one though :D Cheers!
