Burrajum Falls by Jason Asher

Further up the trail from Bahnamboola Falls on the Coomera Circruit we found a short side to these falls. The track was quite overgrown with bushes and trees you had to slide past, until we came to an opening over rock with this gorgeous scene! It got me thinking how many people walked half way and decided “it probably isn’t worth it anyway” and turned back…. well, I think it was worth it!

Shot on the 10th of October 2009 on the Coomera Circuit in Lamington National Park (Binna Burra section) with a Canon 450d and a 17-40 f/4L at 17mm. One RAW processed in Photoshop CS4.

Shutter: 20 seconds
Aperture: f/16
ISO: 100

Great shot Jason. Looks like a top spot for a dip :-)

  • It would’ve been mate! A bit chilly when we were walking through though – was a very windy day through the gorge so I’ve got a huge abundance of shots with blurred trees :( Thanks for the comment fella!

Nice one mate. I really like the colour of the water in this. I would maybe burn a little to the left of the falls. It was pouring rain on me when I got through to here. Had to leave the camera in its bag!

  • Ah mate I forgot it was raining when you went through! The creek crossing through waist deep water was non-existent for us too, so I think we were the lucky ones. Still a bit windy though. CHeers for the comment, I’ll have a ponder about the burn, doesn’t look too bad on my monitor though.
