Stef Dunn
Hey Jason. I really like this one mate. I love the curve in the foreground motion blur. Really nice. Great work mate. WIsh I could make my lens do that!
Jason Asher replied
You can mate, it was your lens! Glad you like it, I was a little iffy about the look of the clouds and the highlights on the horizon but I dont mind it.
Derek Dobbie
nice location by the looks of this. well done.
Jason Asher replied
Cheers Derek, it’s now one of my favorite coastal areas.
Andrew Widdowson
Great shot Jason. I like the use of longer exposure on the water. Lovely warm reflection too.
Jason Asher replied
Thanks again Andrew, I liked that effect too mate.
PatriciaLM

Jason Asher replied

Shelley Warbrooke
This is really lovely :) The shade of the water along the horizon against the ripples of the sky makes this really stand out. The blurred foreground water is perfect!
Jason Asher replied
Thanks once again, I’m glad you like it now ;)
Kounelli
Great water movement
Jason Asher replied
Cheers mate.
Delany Dean
Ah, beautiful! Lovely colors and composition, and the water is beautifully done.
Jason Asher replied
Thanks again Delany, the blurred water is my favorite aspect of this shot.

Gorgeous capture and colors~love the blur and curve in the foreground!! Awesome HDR
Jason Asher replied
Thanks Cheryl. This one wasn’t actually HDR, but a similar method involving photomatix’s exposure blending. It’s a very similar process, but instead of combining all the colors for the highest dynamic range, it focuses more on taking parts from each bracketed shot that’s needed. For example 3 shots, 1 with “normal” in camera metered exposure, one that’s underexposed to get detail out of the sky, and one overexposed to get detail out of the foreground – in this case the sand and rocks.
I find it’s handy for when you don’t want to get that overdone obviously-a-HDR effect, and just want to have a properly exposed image. Otherwise either the sky would be blown out or the foreground would be too dark.
Jason Connolly
Stunning shot Jason, love the movement of the water in the foreground,..
Bet you are getting sick of saying they aren’t HDR’s mate LOL..
Jason Asher replied
Haha it’s only the 2nd one, and they both came today coincidentally. Thanks for the comment :D
Dragan Petrovic
this one has a heavy dose of “WOW” effect.
Jason Asher replied
Thanks again Dragan, used the same process as “The Calm Beyond The Storm”.
LunaStar

Jason Asher replied

Andrew Murrell
Jason you really have the handle on the large sweeping shots. this is another great example. I see you shot it at f11.
Jason Asher replied
Cheers Andrew, appreciated mate. Yeah all of my shots that morning were from f11 – f22.
Dave Grubb
I like this shot it’s relaxing
Jason Asher replied
Thanks Dave, glad you took the time to look at my stuff :)
Richard Ahne
I like how the flow of the water mirrors the flow of the clouds in the sky. Nice capture!
Jason Asher replied
Nicely seen Richard, glad you like it mate thanks very much!
