Salar de Uyuni & bicycle by

Mmmmmmm, salt…..
High in the Andes Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni is one of the more surreal cycling experiences. There’s about 5000 square kilometers of this stuff. The only regret I have about this 1997/8 cycle tour was that I didn’t try to ride clean across it – a two day effort by all accounts. Maybe next time. This is my most popular work on Redbubble with 44 favoritings and 3223 views at 10 November 2011 and a home page feature way back in 2008.

Pentax K1000. 50mm lens. Agfa transparency film.

More images from this cycle tour can be seen in the South America by bike collection on my Bubblesite.
