Salar de Uyuni y bici
Mmmmmmm, salt…..
Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni – one of the more surreal cycling experiences. There’s about 5000 square kilometers of this stuff. The only regret I have about this trip was that I didn’t try to ride clean across it – a two day effort by all accounts. Maybe next time.
Salar de Uyuni y bici belongs to the following groups:
Bicycle, Film Photography, JPG Cast-Offs, Landscape Photography, Latin America and Travel and Adventure Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

Syd Winer
Thanks for your comments – it certainly is one of the more photogenic places I’ve ever been.
SirDidymus
that’d be a little bit bumpy wouldn’t it? Nice shoot into infintey you got there though
Sarah Matthews
What an amazing place, well done
Steven Sandner
wow. that is beautiful! i want to go there!!! lol, pansy for not trying to ride across!!! (eventhough… a ride like that could be really dangerous without some bearing of which direction your heading or the true distance) awesome photo and ideas here though!
Syd Winer
Ha! Thanks Steven – not as dangerous as it looks. Just out of shot were the mountainous shoreline to the right and ‘islands’ to the left. By aiming my camera between them you certainly get the impression that it’s a featureless landscape. Oh, and jeep tracks run out to an island in the middle so I don’t think too many cyclists get lost out there.
Stephen Norris

Insane? Ha! Sane! Now using 4wd where it’s clear a bicycle can go… that’s insane.

Elaine Harriott
Wow – amazing!! it must’ve been such a fantastic trip….but yeah probably better off in a 4WD to go all the way across it. Still, this shot shows the effort it would’ve taken. Great perspective and use of the bike for scale.
Dawne Olson
Fascinating image! Great perspective… congrats on homepage

Thank you to the mysterious buyer of 5 postcards of this image.
Kath Cashion
Great shot. I was very regretful when I went through there packed in the back of a 4 wheel drive that I didn’t have my bike. It would have been wonderful to be able to travel independently.
Syd Winer replied
Thanks Kath. It was a great experience. Might see if I can fit the Dolomites into the next trip.
