VERY NICE!!!!! how did work the shutter on this shot.?
Syd Winer
Thanks David. It was a 26 second exposure – the cardboard shutter simply ran in a cardboard slot and was held in place by friction. I leaned forward to slide it open and at the same time started the digital kitchen timer that was blu-tacked to the camera. When the timer beeped I leaned forward again to close the shutter. You’ll notice my right hand (on the left side of the picture) is semi-transparent because of that movement. The camera is very wide angle so it was not that much of a stretch to reach it. Most people assume the shot was taken from the back of a vehicle travelling in front of me. In fact the camera was mounted on the bike – velcroed to the front wheel hoop of my low-rider pannier frame. The “rural” scenery is really the green painted aluminium fences and backyard trees of Adelaide suburbia.

Love it, Syd – very inventive. Look forward to seeing more from this camera.
