twice the first time
Those of you who care, may have noticed that I have barely been uploading anything recently, this is due to a total lack of inspiration from the world of digital photography. Luckily there is a man in the office, who goes by the name of James who is equally old school, cynical and at least as much of a luddite, if not more so. So he lent me his developing equipment, chemicals and all, and told me to ‘do it properly’. So I did.
Stuck some B&W Kodak 400 Tri-X in my medium format Holga and some of the same in my 35mm Hanimex and went and shot and hand developed a few rolls.
Started scanning them in this evening and thought I’d post the first one up.
Suddenly I’m excited by the medium again, and I’m having fun again.
Here’s a shot I took of my lady against a mirror in her favourite spotted dress, she is quite a big fan of spots you see.
James, good work fella, I owe you a Mountain Goat.

Great result – hard work rewarded I say! I can feel the energy in this shot – and those pure blacks resonate so well!... I do like a bit of post prouduction work myself, however, also know where you and this James you speak of are coming from. Love it OneTon! Great result of technique and processing!

beautiful sensual dark work

a) Cool image, looking forward to seeing more, there is something about the tonality of real black and white that’s seem very hard to reproduce … Or maybe it’s not, and I just suck at photoshop. Acutally … I kinda know the latter is the case but anyway…
b ) I’ve just got back from the weekend with 10 beautiful rolles of 120 E6, I feel a bit softcore not getting out the bleach and water baths to develop them myself…

I just bought a Smena (from Lomo) from the late 60`s. Can`t wait to get it and start playing with some old 35mm rolls from my boyfriend`s fridge. I love what you managed to do here with the high contrast black and white.

hmmmm…been hidden for a while…you draw for her?
onetonshadow replied
Hidden? This has never been hidden.
‘you draw for her?’
I don’t know what that means. Do I draw pictures for her? Yes, occasionally, why?
lostboy13
i meant it was hidden from my self concious attention.
the end.
onetonshadow replied
Ah, does that happen often?
