the red line
Gants Hill Tube Station. Stalin was so impressed by the London Underground he had them advise on the construction of the Moscow Metro, which, if you’ve never been on it, is stunning. As work on this station was halted during the war when they got to finish it in 1947 it took on the barrel vaulted roofing by now common in the Russian stations.
Another Charles Holden classic.
Excellent clocks too.

Yeah but it’s on the Central Line, which is red, and I’m subtly referencing communism. Don’t sweat it.

Love the leading lines and the single figure walking through, a wonderful capture

Yeah that’s my missus, I asked her to walk across in a demure manner and she mainly insisted on behaving like cookie monster, but I got one calm one off. The out takes are far funnier mind you.
