I agree – awesome shot and I’m just fascinated with air shows… great capture and good to see that cool texture of your camera doing some beautiful work on those old school planes. Love it!
I frigg’n love planes, pretty much any types and airports too. my sis and her husband are pilots. I totaly dig it. I just finished a peice called “Amelia” about Amelia Earheart the famous female pilot.
chief the fact ‘nostalgia’ is written on the plane in the background makes it too good to be true. don’t know if anyone else picked that up, but to me that sort of makes it, er, quite good actually. the fact that the plane in the foreground has a web address tatooed on its scalp just makes it even better.
i can’t hark on about contrast, becasue i don’t know what it means. it does have that ‘gone through the washing machine’ sort of look though, which is lovely.; as for composition, you managed to get two planes onto a single photo, which is just spiffing.
There is s sense of loneliness that comes over me when I look at this. Maybe it’s the sadness of retirement, still usable just not needed. The dark tones at the bottom are a nice contrast to the blue sky and puffy white clouds with the edges hinting at a storm. Great work

While the DC3 still graces the skies, your image captures the older era of aviation beautifully!
