Was it supposed to provide feedback at the ene or rather serve as a research tool for its creator? It could also be seen as a means of self discovery. I think it asked some good questions. Depending on how in-depth you wish it to be you could add to it, making it more personal in ways.

  • Mainly it works as a research tool. However, I do not know if it could be more versatile if I had a paid account. I actually had a few more questions I wanted to ask on it. But, it limited me to 10. I could probably make a second survey though. If you have suggestions of questions to put on it, please let me know. The main goal of the survey is to ask various questions that I have found to be taken for granted by the dominant, western culture. (ie, students have sent me about 7-10 surveys this year and most of them assume I must either be male or female, have only one unchanging gender, and use “sex” and/or “gender” to identify zir body. Recently, I got an updated one that lumped all LGBTQ and Intersex people into a single category as an option. I didn’t check it because I do not see myself as L, B, or I… the G is not the G they are thinking of when I use it, and neither is the T. So, the Q works, but by then its a moot point, I have yet again become invisable. (That is why I have alternative text boxes for people to write in anything I may not have considered or been aware of.) Eventually, I’ll launch more than a trial version of this and begin collecting information that is culturally relative to Genderqueer and other minority gender groups.

Also, once I get it up and running for real and figure out how to make use of it, I want to create an option for people to get the stats on it. I’ll have to figure out how to do that but there has got to be a way.

You’re off to a good start. Maybe inclue a few emitionaltype questions about feelings rather than beliefs?

  • Ah, that is a good idea! In the future if I get some funding I might purchase a payable account and be able to extend the survey to include that. Thank you for the feedback!
