Caffeine II
Memories of five years ago in Istanbul. A quick trip to Gloria Jeans Coffee shop at lunchtime, turned into a caffeine orgy. A few double espresso lattes (grande) while we chatted and it was back to work.
Work in this case was teaching English to extremely spoiled Turkish teenagers, whose minds and bodies were also spinning out of control, having gorged themselves on Coke, greasy kebab meat and stodgy rice.
If I could, then, leave but one legacy to humanity it would be this: don’t do two double espressos while teaching teenagers.

Cooooool. that is so about coffee.
Great story too.
Robert O'Neill replied
True story Yellow. It was a Monday afternoon, and hot. I started shaking about 10 mins before teaching.
I think we had a few pints after work to bring ourselves down.

haha… funny… and i love your coffee images…. but did they really call it a ‘Grande” there… how starfuckian…..... pardon my coffeespeak…........b
Robert O'Neill replied
Indeed they do Butch. In some parts of Istanbul, you can’t walk 20 metres without seeing a coffee shop—the usual Starbucks, Gloria Jeans, and then the local ones. They are all packed. Sometimes it is impossible to get a seat.
In every one of them a Grande is on offer.

This is so cool, I love it. Is this foam on top of a capachino?
Robert O'Neill replied
Either that or the intense stare/glare/paranoia that coffee gives.
Coffee./caffeine can be a crazy drug sometimes.
Thanks for the view jennifer.
