Today I wanted to go out and take pictures of some beautiful burgundy lilies in bloom. The light was just right, so I got my gear ready and headed out back. The lilies were covered in spider webs! I tried to make it work, but with only my 50mm I didn’t have much luck. Soon the sun came up too far and that magical light moment we all crave and wait for was gone. I HAD to take a picture today, something I was proud to share. After setting up and rearranging at least 50 shots of random things in my home, I gave up and decided to start making my lunch, and that’s when it happened. All the things on my cluttered un kept counter were giving me the perfect color I was after. So I grabbed my favorite whisk and finally got something that satisfied me :) now I can get on with my day.
I’ve got to remind myself not to try so hard to make it happen. All the best shots come to me, not the other way around

I like to shoot
light playing off objects and nature in interesting and wonderful ways. The simplicity and complexity of the beauty that is all around us everyday.

Totally agree- sometimes if you look or try too hard it doesn’t come, I’ve experinced this often during my uninspiring moments when I’ve forced myself to be inspired…

  • I have to laugh at myself because I wasted the entire morning. Not that I didn’t have fun trying, but LOL

Love the whimsy—much better than struggling over a lily.

  • Thank you Jan, I agree, much better than a lily ;)
