You In Your Room.

You learnt by the internet so you went so wrong.
When I asked you your feelings, not knowing how to respond
You said “Well I have no feelings, I only know”
“That technology has taught me just where to go.”
And I shied away because I was bought up
On grass and lands and damn pure luck.
Whilst you swindled life and just got by
I touched the grass and learnt to fly.
You in your room with just a screen
And I, in my world wanting to be seen.
I felt your touch but I felt so cold
You don’t know me, maybe I am too old.
I don’t know things the way you do
I am scared of most things, scared of new.
You quote me things, I’ve no idea
They come from screens that feel no fear.
No emotion, just like you
You grew up but died just half way through.
You in your room with just a screen
Me in my world, waiting to be seen.
I remember days would just be enough
When I sat on earth and saw by touch.
Dipped my feet in muddy waters
Dreamt of things that I sought after.
Then I met you, so clean, so new
Thought you were real, you wandered through.
But soon enough I saw no way
That this was false, I felt betrayed.
That all your faults so bold, so free
Were not yours but others that you’ve seen.
You in your room with just your screen
And me in my world, waiting to be seen.
