Sunset Water Carrying
Between times of work, there are opportunities for rest. In my painting one woman is working, collecting water for her family in the evening. Another woman is resting, outside her house, where she can greet those passing by. When women walk together to collect water, there is an opportunity to talk and enjoy each other’s company, if they are not too tired. There is the same chance when women gather around the village pump, but with more time to rest as well. When poverty is history there will be enough time for everything.
