Remember Davey Crockett and Dan’l Boone?
Were you all in one room when they walked on the moon?
How ‘bout those sitcoms? They used to kill us.
Like the kid who said, ’What you talkin’ bout Willis? ’
That ‘Best of Bread’ Eight Track is out dated,
Your Farrah Fawcett poster is faded.
Don’t mean to dwell on old times,
But you’re starting to show all the signs.
If you’ve answered yes to the above,
And you remember those songs about Puppy Love,
Looks like you were raised up around the 70s.
Those things you did easily, now seem like a grind,
World War Two Veterans are getting harder to find.
When you get out of the chair, do you fart?
Wish you body could have a new start?
I don’t want to rub it in any longer,
Why don’t we do things that make us feel stronger?
Some folks go to the doctor and get more pills,
Others get stuff together and head for the hills.
Visiting old folks could get you more courage,
How’d they put off being placed in cold storage?
Most of all, be brave! and don’t throw a hissy!
‘Cause getting old is not for sissy’s.
