This lady was fireman for the day on A4 Pacific 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’ on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering station. Supervising going over the points for the engine to run to the other end of the train to be coupled on again.
railway lady engine steam fireman
Makes a change from the Male faces. The Bluebell Railway has a few female traincrew too.
Sir Nigel looks good too.
They had another lady fireman on the Southern engine 825 running the same day. Sir N is in lovely condition and just plays with the run from Grosmont to Pickering – Thanks for the comment
Great capture Ted
Thank you Steve.
I would love to be in that ladies shoes Ted i have had the privilige of firing a Light Paciic 34046 Braunton over the Devon banks back in the early sixties just before the end of steam that was a thrill but i think a turn on the Sir Nigel Gresley would top that
Bullied Pacifics best engines there are. Sir Nigel is a nice engine though (see my footplate Image on RB) Thanks for the comment – Ted
