This oil painting (36″ × 24″) was painted as Ted’s retirement present, and is the largest one I have painted.
Hurricane KZ321 is a Mk.IV built in 1942 and saw service with No.6 Squadron RAF in Grottaglie, Italy from March 1943. Moved around the Balkans and Eastern Europe and finished up in Israel where it was scrapped. Recovered from a Jaffa scrapyard in 1983 it was brought to England and stored at Biggin Hill until 1991 when it was purchased by the Imperial War Museum Fighter Collection.
Restored by Hawker Restorations Ltd. to zero hour condition from 2001 to 2003 when it made its maiden flight in the colours of No.6 Sqd. RAF.
Sold in 2006 to Vintage Wings of Canada.
KZ321 is the last remaining Hurricane Mk.IV in existance.
