Profile
Born in Sweden, educated in the United Kingdom and currently raising a family in the United States, I am always in transition. If I am not either in the middle of a big move, or planning one, I don’t feel like I’m really alive.
Does my art reflect this constant movement? The opposite, I think. Geometric shapes and exact rulers are essential components of my toolbox, usually with an unmistakable reference to the mod style of my childhood. Perhaps creating a stable universe in art is a way to compensate for self-imposed chaos elsewhere.
I chose the name oliveade to spare people from having to grapple with my real name (which also seems to be evolving over time). If it doesn’t already make you think of the colour green, bubbly drinks and parlour parties, you better start thinking about those things right now!
If you like my illustration style but don’t see exactly what you want here, I’d love to know, so please send me a bubblemail. I do take on commission work, and most of my art is vector based and easily scalable for different formats.
