Tea Tree Gully, AUSTRALIA

Welcome from sunny Adelaide in South Australia.

By day I work as a criminal defence lawyer, mostly helping socially disadvantaged people sort out the messes they have gotten themselves into; but in every spare moment I dabble in art. It helps me to wind down and takes my focus away from the grimier things that occupy my attention during working hours. I also feel that through artistic expression I validate my existence, externalizing what is within. Sometimes this is simply the appreciation or interpretation of beautiful things. At other times I attempt to express ideas.

I don’t like sticking to one medium or style of artwork so I have experimented with various media, including watercolour, pastel, acrylic and ink. I have also done sculpture in clay, hebel and papier maché, printmaking, caricature.

Colores
I’m quite excited about the group exhibition I will be involved in at the Red Opus Art Space. ‘Colores’ is the name of the exhibition and it starts with a big opening on Friday 23rd July 2010. Showing off the work of 18 talented Adelaide artists, it’s part of the amazing and ginormous annual SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival. I have 4 watercolours in the exhibition…
