Gorge: Australia series #3
Across the top end of my country and on into its heartland the earth has been fractured and torn by immense forces we cannot understand. Some of these scars of violence are now massive gorge systems, filled with waterfalls, rivers and sometimes a lonely, isolated rockhole.
Life flourishes in such places, little Edens surviving in a landscape so hostile to man that it seems like the surface of another planet.
But it is my planet
My country
My heart

Stunning! The colours are most impressive and the details are wonderful. I love the diagonal cut of the water through the land. Your words are so beautiful as well. Fabulous work Kim :)

For a colourblind artist you use colour pretty damn well! These paintings are so evocative – I’ve seen these scenes in real life! Fantastic – keep up the good work.
Kim Grace
That’s because the name of the colour is on the tin, buddy :)
Thanks, that means a lot after seeing your work

Kim, someday I will visit Australia, I had a good friend in college who was from Australia and I have wanted to go there ever since I met him. Your writing made me think of my home state of California and its history of earthquakes. I am fascinated by geology. Thank you very much for joining our group. – Cora
Kim Grace replied
My pleasure, cora, i am coming to California in 2010!!

Kim, this is great reminds me of the view of land when i used to skydive, and very aussie land colours, beverley
Kim Grace replied
Ta bev, you can do that on yer own :) I prefer the view from my mind’s eye where it is quiet, not from the skydiver’s eyewhere there is lots and lots of screamin i should imagine :)
