James Butler (Wild Bill) Hickok…Pioneer of the Great Plains, born here in little Troy Grove, Illinois, 27 May 1837. He remained here in Illinois until about 1856. Scout, Spy, Soldier, Express Rider, Sheriff. He helped to settle and make safe the West. One of the deadliest pistoleros in the history of the United States. His sterling courage was always at the service of Right and Justice. He was assassinated in a Deadwood, KS saloon, 02 August 1876, while playing poker. The cards he held when killed went on to forever become known as the “Dead Man’s Hand”…Aces and Eights.

Most of my photos are – more or less – sootc. I’ll tweak contrast and brightness on a few, or convert to sepia or B&W, but aside from that, it’s usually just straightening and cropping. I do have fun with a few pix, but that’s rare for me. I use an old Fuji E550 FinePix P&S, exclusively.
