WAS IT FATE OR DEVINNE INTERVENTION THAT WE TWO SHOULD MEET To Wiflred Owen belongs to the following groups:

Gay Men

It was a cold and wet day when the train pulled in to Edinburgh
And so up to craiglockhart by taxi i went that first rainy day
sick in the head worn down nervous skittish anxious and tired
And as i got down from the taxi and paid my fare and turned around
I saw in front of me an angel from above tall slim blue eyed Adonis
And felt ashamed for my unholy thoughts and yet somehow excited
Was it fate or Devinne intervention that we two should meet her
and standing there putting out is hand he said Siegfried or mad jack
And you are Wilfred i said well Wilfred welcome to the mad house
and then he went to the woods to wright a protest litter
and that night as i toss and turned in my sleep back in the Hun dug out
And Holding a candle to my sentry’s eyes i said if you can see this
Then you are not blind don’t worry your sight will come back a lie
And as the weeks went by it all became clear to me now
We are to die like cattle to the Slaughter house withe out question we go
And so my love for siege was great but i dare not say for fear it would get me shot
It will be my secret for the love i hold in my heart would never die but live on in death
and then one day the day i dreaded came when siege came to me and said
Its no good old friend i have to go back have to, its the boys i have left behind
Who will look after them those foul mouth uneducated ever complaining welsh men
And do know this i could not wish to be in better company when the shit starts to fly
And deep down i felt a great loss for is it wrong to have love for another man
And then i know i two had to go back to the Manchester’s and France and the monstrous guns and gas attacks
And what of my Adonis mad jack what will become of him lost in no mans land
In a sea of mud wire and shell holes never to be seen again and no grave stone for him
and so the day was upon me and Siegfried was leaving back to France and is men
And as the taxi pulled up he turned to me and put is arms around me and give me a hug and as i held him close to me i found i could not let him go and as we parted
He whispered to me Wilfred it is better to have and lost love than to never have loved before and then i give him a poem i had wrote and said will you have a look at this for me and let me know what you think whats it about he said ho its about Abram and Issac i said and ho yes i changed dead for anthem and as he closed the door he looked at me and smiled and give me a wink And then he was gone down the road did he look back . And so as i sit her in this trench waiting to lead the attack across the canal my thoughts are back in craiglockhart and my Adonis Siegfried and turning to my Sargent i say all in order yes sir was is reply well then it’s time to go and shout, get ready men one minute.
