Old Man
o again, I’m in some sort of flow right now. I just take a photo, get in my little cozy bubble and when I’m done this painting comes out. I JUST LOVE PAINTER ;-)
It’s is a remake of Old arab man, which I did in pastel look. This one is on oil technique and personally I like it more than the pastel. I really tried to similate the impasto brush stroke and it really went well. If you look closely you can almost see the paint strokes laying on top of each other.
I call it No more No less, because to me this man looks to satisfied. He is old, lived his life, but he look fulfilled, so No more No less….....
Hope you enjoy watching it, because that’s why I make them ;-)

Hello again. So, you are using Painter, correct? I had an old version of this program but I’ve not used it in years. I do have Photoshop. I’m wondering if this would be sufficient. Please if you have the time would you give me a brief step-by-step for creating this kind of digital art. I would love to experiment. Wow, again!!!
Odwin replied
Hi Robin,
As Photoshop is very useful for drawing and painting it cannot stand in the shadow of Painter. As Painter cannot stand in the shadow of Photoshop as it comes to editing photo’s.
About a step-by-step, in a nutshell it starts as a line drawing, than blocking in tone values in greyscale and than starting to add colors and blending them. Layer upon layer adding more detail with each layer. Describing the whole process here, would take a long time ;-)
