Ive been wanting to work with more of my photography for a good while and when i read this quote the ideas started flowing. The ‘constant and controlling surveillance’ subject of the book is reflected in the image treatment and paintwork. That particular image was chosen because it is an old friend of mine who taught me a lot about photography and introduced me to 1984. And, inevitably and just like the quote, the tension I had built inside became visible for her to see. ..
