St Carthage Catholic Church: Silverton 25 km west of Broken Hill in outback NSW, Australia. Built in 1886, St Carthage stands alone on the rising slope in what was once a thriving mining town. Today Silverton is known as a ghost town. I sometimes wonder if it represents a parable of the Spiritual state of Australia.
I used a pallet knife rather than a brush to give depth and texture.
