Manitou by OceanBien

Currently unavailable for purchase

This is a very historical yacht.
Manitou was made famous by John F. Kennedy who enjoyed sailing Manitou when he was President of the USA.
I had the pleasure of working on this boat in 1979 when I was a rigger at Zahnizer’s Marina & Boatyard in Solomon’s Island.
The boat was most restenly owned by the family of the original owner, and now the boat is for sale at the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis MD USA.
Here is some more information from our local newspaper:

Manitou is for sale. Asking 1.3 million US.
To be in 100% condition, it would take about another 150,000 US, but the boat is in sailable condition now.
The girl in the picture comes with the boat as she’s the caretaker for all the paint and varnish. I don’t think the boat has a full time captain, but his salary should be at least 80,000 with wooden boat shipwright experience and 100 ton USCG license.
The photos of President Kennedy show lifelines and stanchions installed, but this configuration has no lifeline fittings or pulpits. It certainly gives the boat a very sleek and trip appearance.
