I am an emerging New Zealand artist. The focus of my photographs is often towards taking simple everyday objects/settings and showing them in a way that sparks the imagination.
My signature in my work is most often a small shifting up of contrast and a shifting down of the actual light in the image. I try to keep these shifts small for it is a fragile balance between showing off the essence of the photo and losing it entirely due to exageration. The flip side to this is that occaisionally the only way a photo will work is when it is highly exagerated in this manner so you will see a few of my photos do this.
