This stunning castle, lying in the Peak district National Park, dates back to medieval times and probably has the finest kitchen dating from that period, in Europe. This is on account of the Manners family living elsewhere from 1705 until 1928. The property was maintained during this period, but escaped the attentions of the Georgian and Victorian period. As such it has kept much of its Tudor originality and has been used for the filming of Elizabeth and 3 differrent versions of Jane Eyre.

Shot with a Nikon D5100 at ISO 100, f3.8, 1/500 sec. The lens was a Nikon AR-S Nikkor DX 18-200mm VR G ED at 24mm focal length.
