professional ems in cambridge, mass.

nikon d2x. shot at 4 sec, 3.5/f

two smoke machines were placed to the left of the ambulance, and the emergency lights were turned on.

one of the harder parts of getting this shot was making sure the models kept very still. i usually tell them to hold their breath when i am trying to get a shot like this.

it was a long shoot, because of the wind blowing the smoke around, models moving, and the obvious lightplay, but i think it was worth it.

Like the fire brigade shot this works so well. The detail on the support of the bed is incredible in that light, right down to the shadows. What really makes it for me is the glimpse of tree over on the right, that gives it a feel of in action as opposed to being shot in a driveway.

You may have had to set the stage for this and for “Fire” but I think both photos really show off your talent as a photographer. Excellent work! Having taken technical marketing photos for a college for 35 years I can really appreciate the level of difficulty in these kinds of photographs.

Get this onto an ambulance site or magazine in the UK and it would sell , especially with a sponsor advert . There is a hugh Ambulance / paramedic conference in Harrogate Yorkshire during the summer every year selling new equipment vehicles . Im sure they would like this in the entrance lobby .
