An abandoned 17th century chapel in the Netherlands, once part of a beautiful castle/monestary, is about the only part still standing. Damaged, disgraced and robbed of its dignity, it still feeds your imagination of how things used to be. The acoustic is incredible, it carries a whisper to every far corner and gives you just an impression of how powerfull preaching must have been.
The little stairs in this photo lead you from the flooded basement to the top of the tower, where the clockwork is.
