    It’s sad to see these old buildings abandoned and unused, but it sure makes for interesting photographs. I always try to imagine what the place was like when it was in it’s prime.

    I completely agree. I usually do manage to envision these buildings in their hey-day, it helps to give me a better feel for what each room may have been used for. A friend of mine refers to the as “gestalting”.

    Luckily, the Armstrong Cork Factory has been saved and currently has a new lease on life. It’s been made into some very nice loft apartments. The ones on the west side have a tremendous view of Pittsburgh…
