    G’day Nic!

So this is the real John Hooton! He doesn’t look like his avatar at all! 8-)

Apart from your subject being a handsome and compliant model I really like the dramatic lighting, the strong contrast and the limited tonal range. This has to look good as a glossy B&W print!

I do feel though that some “housekeeping” is in order:
    1. Bring our right edge of frame in a bit more to eliminate all evidence of Mr Hooton’s ear,
    2. Clone out those slightly distracting highlights in our bottom right corner, and
    3. Carefully clone out the very distracting bright button growing from John’s finger.

The tight framing and good use of the diagonal line of hand and cheek, following the “line of light” has been very well thought out. All in all a most impressive portrait.
