I work in acrylics on canvas and my inspiration comes from the colours and textures around us. The island of Capri features heavily in my work as the blue sea and fabulous rocks just cry out to be painted!
I have no formal qualifications I just paint what I see for the pleasure of seeing the finished project.
To me painting is like carving out an image which already exists on the canvas, and even though at first glance my portfolio may seem quite eclectic everything I paint has captured my imagination in some way.
With the use of colour and texture my aim is to sculpt the image whether it be rock, a pizza or the skin on someones face – all subjects have the same technique of blended subtle tone changes or striking complimentary colour positioning and sharp lines where accent is needed to draw the viewer where I need them to look
I hope you get some enjoyment from my work, after all – that’s one of the main reasons I do it!
