This is a very quick shot after a brief snow storm. When the sun came out it all but disappeared! The Organ Mts. make a very picturesque subject. Of all the mountains in New Mexico, they alone have the double feature of upright volcanic formations in the highest sections. Setting the camera ( Canon Eos XTi with Tamron 28-300l, lens) on Raw, used f 6.3, ISO 200, 1/1250 sec., and 300.0mm focal length.

snowy peaks

Never travel without a camera – always bringing my camera – feeling ‘naked’ without it!! As old as I’m getting, I still manage to shoot off some pictures.

  • Paul, we’re having a hard time realizing what’s happening with storm after storm. It does, however make for some attempts to show off our beautiful peaks.

I do hear you, meanwhile here the weatherman speaks of the great Sandia Mountain, Popcorn flakes, maybe 10 minute 1/2 ground cover, as always, must travel to the mountains, thinking I moved from ElPaso to get 10 degrees cooler weather, But anyway Heavenly views, with a bit of envy here, mostly Appreciation ! Thanks again ! Paul

I need to get down and explore this mountain range – have only seen them once and was totally taken in by them

  • Hope you do – I consider them the most picturesque of all New Mexico!
