Stopped planting the trees
Fell out of the passion
Seeing clean colours
No longer in fashion
Wishes and ambitions
Goals and desires
Remain unscathed, untouched
And still unrequired
We pencil in verbosity
To replace intuition
The glowing ember
Still seeks ignition
Political appeal
Is all that matters
With society built on
Forged smiles and laughter
Eats at what’s real
Does all the feigned hope
Denying reality
Is how we all cope
So wipe off your smile
Or is that a smirk
And realize life
Lingers not only to irk
