You sniff the clear summer air
Crisp
Fresh
Undeniable are the blends of scent
Of fruit and honey
Of flowers and grass
You kiss the warmth, always there
It’s what you bathe in
Its what you love
Instinct guides you to the gleam
Blistering
Yet soothing
You take a bite of summer food
As sweet as the one you’d die for
As cool as the pool that takes you in
Slowly savour the succulence
Takes you there
To heaven’s care
You listen to the children play
Joy is spread
Laughter is spread
All the while birds sing their songs
Nature’s choir
In the middle of it all
You look up and see only blue
Look down
See only green
And you feel
The sense of summer.
What summer is all about.
