I was in the Lewiston, NY Art Festival this past weekend, and won a first place blue ribbon for my drawing Fire ! I wasn’t even going to enter anything in the contest being that it was my very first art show, but with a little push from my family and friends, I did.
Walking back in later that day to retrieve my artwork, I saw that blue ribbon hanging there and did a double-take (or was it a triple-take), to be sure I saw it right. I was incredibly ecstatic to say the very least….can you tell I wouldn’t shut-up by the expression on my face here???!!! lol
The weather on Sunday afternoon was pretty frightful. A severe thunderstorm rolled in and, before we knew it, we were trying to hold the tent down as well as all of my artwork and music stuff (I had my beautiful Martin acoustic with me)! The winds were up to 60 mph and the rain filled the bottom of my tent area…. There we were, standing in a foot of water, holding onto the metal tent posts, under a tree, in a lightning storm!!!!! The true meaning of “when it rains, it pours”!
I made it through without any damage though, so that is the biggest blessing of all.
So, my first art show was quite the experience, to put it very mildly :)) Thanks so much for reading!
