From the Shetland/Lerwick series -
Our County Library,
formerly St. Ringan’s Church, Lerwick, Shetland, Scotland, UK.
When it first opened in 1886, St Ringan’s was a United Presbyterian Church, but became a United Free Church in 1900 with the union of these churches.
Recently converted as olur Shetland Library, it remains a wonderful sanctuary of knowledge with a mine of treasures… as well as a fantastic venue for poetry nights& book launches. …One of my favourite places to read in Shetland!
I actually caught it in early evening last week, just in time before John Hudson’s Tribute to Adrian Mitchell’s book launch on 60N…
There’s something magical about that place.
