crossroads
From the Sandwick series -
Selected view from my toonship under far less malicious skies.
Note on place names and their endings [“ister”, from ON., meaning “farm” or “settlement”]
Moment in time.
There is a sense of questioning. Where have we been – where do we go?
From viking raids via Hansa, from herring queens to the black gold…
Generations of islanders still welcome you with the same warmth.

I an sure there are very few cars along that road during a day Nat, such a peaceful place to live, the traditional old cottages look splendid on the skyline and presenting in black and white was the perfect choice for such a timeless scene, interesting to read about ister at the end of a place name as well, excellent work my friend,
Regards, Rod.
NordicBlackbird replied
thank you very kindly, dear Rob :))))))
Aye, the traffic is not as mad as on the main [Scottish] land ;))
Still, since Sandwick happens to be the major toonship in the whole of the South Mainland [with a Junior High School], quite a few cars fly around… but not before 2 p.m. on a Sunday p.m. [that’s when the bake shop opens on that day!]. kind regards, N xoxo
