The Australian Grass Tree (Xanthorrhoea) at the Moogerah Peaks section of the Mt French National Park in southeast Queensland. This stork holds the seeds which when dry falls to the ground spreading the seeds inside.
The dry storks are also very useful for starting a fire when you’ve run out of matches!
A recent fire has triggered massive growth in. not just the Grass Trees, but all plant life in the area.
Unfortunately, these plants are continually being dug up by people to put in their yards. Most will die after this as they require at least a cubic metre of soil to go with them to survive replanting.
