beautiful, I like the hat!
never what ?
The text in the lower left = “She never really cared for things like him.”
I see. Why did she not care for things like him ?
Its from a short story about 1940’s socialites falling in love. She prefers to have short flings and ‘fix’ any flaws in the other person. “He” appears to be undamaged and stable, and therefore is boring to her.
I wouldn’t cotton well to her character .
Neither of the characters are very bearable until they meet, and begin to recant their previous views on treating sweethearts as fixer-upper projects.
Well fixing people …in terms of fixing actual flaws… IF they are flaws in regard to ethics or in regard to esthetic taste …is laudable and good…but its the part of wanting sexual flings/ one night or however- many- night , trysts that is the notion that ought to be recanted totally . So that part of treating persons as opportunities for exciting coitus that is what ought to be totally recanted !
Oh no, there’s nothing sexual in it. Its all annoying habits, emotional flaws, ethical stupidity, things like that. She has a habit of taking them on, fixing them up, and playing matchmaker.
I see .Well if she is fixing up those matters, she should continue to do so . I hope that she did NOT turn into some postmodernist sellout …that wants some weird middle ground balance between good and bad .She should keep on trying single-mindedly to reform people .
