I’ve had this obsession with space since the age of 8. Later on in middle school, I would read a book concerning Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity, the infamous, “E=mc²”. Anyhoo, I scribbled a rough sketch of what you see now.

Yup, 10 years in the making.

Take an immense mass, like a sun for instance. It is also comprised of energy. Find a way to harness that power and put it on a spaceship. Connect the solar power converter to the acceleration drive and keep collecting that beautiful raw power. With exponential power increases, why shouldn’t infinite velocity be attained?

Energy is equal to mass, multiplied by the velocity of light, squared. ’Nuff said.
