Anxiety (State of Terror)
One of my newest works. A bit experimental…and still ‘trying’ to capture the poetic thing in my images. Hopefully, title aside…these new works are a little more open to interpretation.

oooooooooh!! this is awesome stuff!! maybe the hummingbird finds solace in hearing another living “creature” who’s pulse beats as fast as he beats his wings, what with the world spinning a lot faster than i remember, everything seems to be increasing, growing, moving, progressing…
nofrillsart
hehe…Thanks Jen. Liking the idea that the images can be interpreted…with a really wide range of views. Yes…lets go with progressing…i like the sound of that! ;)
Ariane
cool image – I like the ambiguity of it – a great conversation piece.

I think hummingbirds are the only bird that can fly backwards (stick that in your random facts). I’m kinda getting a nature vs human vibe from this too and if there’s an element of terror or fear then maybe he fears what humans are capable of doing to nature. He seems to want to get off the shirt in a hurry.
nofrillsart
I may or may not stick that in my random facts…sounds kinda painful. hehe… yeah there is a bit of the nature vs humans thing here…its also a simple visual metaphor for a racing heart that popped into my head. Its a little surreal…but i assure you he is affixed fast to the tee! ;)
Ah, its nice to get peoples viewpoints…helps you find direction when experimenting. Thanks Nat!
Beth Mills
The humming bird seems to have come to a sudden stop after seeing the heart! Maybe he was astounded that this heart could rival his in the racing game? The stethoscope….perhaps we need to listen to nature, or maybe the only thing we have in common with nature is the beating of our hearts???? Fabulous T. Thanks for opening up the opportunity to fanticise!! :-)

has a great surreal quality to it. makes one think. but I have to ask, the “NFA” has got to mean something… knowing u
nofrillsart replied
Hehe…thanks Jeffrey! It is a bit surreal, never really got into surrealism that much before myself, but i do like that connection to these new works and science. As for the NFA… Nah…now i feel it should be a bit more meaningful, but its just a sneaky branding of no frills art! ;)
Cathie Tranent
Ah … thank you ….. but this must be one of the eighty!! Love it …..

Don’t TRY! DO! Excellent! Made me think of how I have been working out an experience with a bird…It pecked my foot early one morn, after i asked it what it was trying to say? well, it was “U CAN”, even tho a “whoooo whooooo””. and with it’s input i went back a FOUND my $200 specs!-thought i couldn’t!! 2-3 weeks later it followed me up my drive to tell me more when i hadn’t even asked! NOW, if that isn’t HEART? & “YES” McGreens loves the green as well!
nofrillsart
hehe…thanks again people!
