This is a white morph of a reddish egret. I was very lucky to be able to see it perform and to document its activities. This bird is quite rare and not often seen. It behaves like a reddish egret and is the same species but is white. (Not albino) In this image it had danced and run about in the shallows with its wings spread out to make shade on the water’s surface so it could see the fish swimming below it. This curious and entertaining method is how it goes about finding its food.
