Shot from the hill overlooking the mining town of Queenstown on the West Coast of Tasmania. The hills used to be completely barren from the mining but some trees are growing back. It used to be like a lunar landscape some years ago. Some of the locals don’t like the trees growing back because if there was a bushfire, the town and residents would be decimated as it lies in a small valley with limitied road access out. One of the roads,on the right of the shot, snakes its way down the mountain side to the town below.
This section of road is also popular as a stage on the Targa Tasmania Car Rally.
