Let Go
This is a very symbolic image for me and one that I had been thinking of doing for some time now. I had to “Let Go” of everything I knew (friends, job, money, girlfriend, security, and most of all…fear!) in order to move to Sedona. I was “comfortably uncomfortable” living in Connecticut. I left Connecticut without notice and moved to Texas to reconnect with my parents whom, at the time, were in their early 70’s. I stayed with my parents for six months and it was one of the best decisions of my life!!! I learned to “Let Go” of “expressing” the views that had strained my relationship with my parents. My parents are old and set in their ways. I was the one that needed to just say “Ok” and “Yes Mom/Yes Dad.” It was “I” that had to “Let Go.” I just needed to realize that their hearts were in the right place and that they have always had good intentions!!
After leaving Texas, I moved to Sedona without ever visiting it first. I cannot explain it but I knew that I would love it here…and I do! The meaning of my license plate is soooo much more complex than the brief explanation above! For me, this image represents learning from your past but not dwelling in it. Looking ahead and not worrying about the uncharted, bumpy road-of-life that lies hidden from view. Keeping a positive perspective so you can manifest the things you truly want in life, despite the obstacles you may face. Live in the NOW…Be PRESENT!!! Don’t let the present slip by while you prepare for the future! Follow your heart and your dreams!!! Perhaps most importantly, show gratitude for what you have and the people you hold closest to your heart!! People often ask me, “What is the meaning of your license plate??” I often reply, “What does it mean to you??” Sometimes, I will just shrug my shoulders and say nothing. When it comes to emotions, I am a man of few words for the most part; however, I enjoy watching people as a silent observer without casting judgment. I tend to hold my emotions inside and I try to visually express myself through photography. Without saying a word, photography allows me to show others my world, through my eyes. Although everyone will see the same image, each person will interpret the image differently.

Glad this was featured…you have certainly found a lot;
so often “LetGo” is interpreted as giving up rather than going forward.
Thank you for your voice!

This is what I love about this image- the license plate grabs my eye and my mind, the depth of the background pulls me into the image, and the clouds and rocks add another dramatic element to hold my attention. This is what I love about your writing- love the positive spin to a difficult situation, love your atitude toward your parents, love your risk taking. Guess I love this whole thing. :)
