I was born on September 28, 1977 and was raised moving from base to base within Canada.

I grew up living a bit of a double life, one half of me drawn to anything technological and the other exploring what wild places existed nearby (though I am sure most are not nearly so wild as I remember). I suppose I was allowed a certain freedom due I believe to the safety of the bases we lived on.

In youth, I have no complaints for how many can say they have travelled the breadth of their country from coast to coast.

Though as a child I had little notion of what I was seeing, I was privy to amazing things. Trips into the Rocky Mountains… drives across the plains of Western Alberta… northern Ontario. I have stood on the shores of three different oceans (albeit one was not Canadian)... hiked among the world’s largest trees.

The lifestyle instilled in me a few things that make up a large part of who I am today.

A deep seeded love for travel, exploration, and the wild places… and a now blooming love for photography.

With regards to photography…

I am what I would consider an amateur… although an amateur who’s love for the art is driving him toward learning ever more. I’ve not taken any formal courses, not had any formal training, and have taught myself as best I can while emulating the art of those who move me.

It is not something I do as a career or for profit, I am myself a member of the Canadian Forces… an Aerospace Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering Technician (I know, what a mouthful)... that is my job.

Photography is a hobby… my creative outlet as it were.

It allows me a means to bring home a piece of each stunning place I visit. A means to remember, and a means to share. A still time recording of things important to me so that despite how much the world changes I will always have that memory.
