Looked Over Death

His body fermented with booze
He lay in the street with nothing to lose
Mucus flowing from his mouth and nose
I could have helped
If I had chose

And I ask you why, why in this world
Should a man so horribly die
How could I lack the empathy
Not to even say good bye

Is my selfish type of breed
Why people stop to need
Am I so viciously in control
That I can’t bleed for another mans soul

I wish I would have helped
His eyes burn in my mind
A reminder of me
Thinking only of me

Of how I left a man to die
