Biography
During a long stay in England in 2004, more out of circumstances than choice, (This turned out to be my longest stay since 1979 there) I bought myself a set of Daler Rowney easel, oil paints, brushes and a few Winsor & Newton canvasses.

I DISCOVERED THAT I COULD EXPRESS MY PERSONAL FEELINGS, THOUGHTS AND MEMORIES THROUGH THIS MEDIUM, BETTER THAN ANY OTHER…
I did fashion sketches as a part of my job…first for a family business and then as a Vice President-Textiles Division of a well diversified group of companies having one of the largest handicraft warehouses…in the USA…
...painting was a real thrilling new discovery about myself…to be able to paint on a surface, different than any I’d tried before…
So I followed my instincts, allowing my most profound FEELINGS and MEMORIES to surface, I painted those in abstract lines…my first collection was thus named “The Lines” shown at the Slough Library in UK, and then came The lines of five elements (“Panch-tatva-ki-Lakirein”) shown at my studio in Delhi. (Please see newspaper clippings)
I have painted most of my work between September 7th, 2004 until now well into 2008, while working on these between UK and India.
most of the newspaper coverage of my exhibitions during January 2007 to December 2007 are here on RB
1. My recent exhibition was in November-December 2007 at my studio in Delhi. (Some of the newspaper coverage is here on my home page)
2. My previous exhibitions have been at the Slough Library, UK, November 1 – 30, 2004.
3. The Windsor Library, UK, November 7-14, 2004.
4. The Oriental Rug Gallery, Trinity Yard,St.Leonard’s Road, Windsor, December 1-25, 2004.
5. Visual Art London, has 7 of my paintings since October 2, 2004 (Status unknown).
6. 9 of my original works are in private collections in England (pictures of those paintings are not here…sorry about that…).
7. At present I have about 30 original paintings in my studio and I’m pleased to invite you to view some of these here

I was born at Howrah…across the Hoogly river if you are in Calcutta…Delhi is where I grew up, where I live with my wife Priya, my daughter Chehak and my sons Sambhav and Hans…
I’m extremely thankful to
Rash Jabbal, who set me up in a studio flat in Hayes where I could start to paint seriously once again…without whom, none of these paintings, exhibitions and newspaper clippings would probably be here…
The Library of Slough, UK, especially to Fred, Phil and Mandy there, who worked hard and made my first ever exhibition possible in a matter of minutes and helped me to install my works and looked after my paintings during the entire exhibition between November 1 st to 30th 2004.
The Library of Windsor, UK, for the same help and the cooperation I received there.
The Directors of Oriental Gallery, Trinity Yard, St. Leonard’s Rd. Windsor, UK.
The Hindustan Times, The Times of India and the MetroNow, the three leading Delhi newspapers of Delhi…
Dr. R.S. Bola of 46, Amberley Road, Slough, UK who made his house and his attic studio available to me without any gain…
Thank you
