N836D -- a Classic Restored by

After its return to flight… this is Douglas DC7-B N836D, commissioned to Eastern Air Lines in 1958. This plane has been restored, and is the only remaining 4-engine piston propliner in existence that is in a passenger configuration and approved for passenger flight.

Owned by the Historical Flight Foundation

Photo taken using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Tamron 28-300 VC lens, and processed in Aperture and Photomatix. This is a three-exposure HDR image.

50% of the proceeds of this photo go to the HFF.

I’m a Miami, Florida-based photographer. I and my camera try to get out as often as possible. These images are the result. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

If you like my images enough to buy them, please know that the income goes back into the art. Thanks for visiting!

It is owned by the Flying Bulls, which is owned by the Red Bull corp. They are in Saltzburg. The plane was fully restored from 2001-2004. A friend of mine here in Miami supplied all the parts. Money was no object
